The No. 16 Lady Jackets are moving on to the Class 5A Division I Region I playoffs Monday, continuing one of the biggest turnarounds in the area this season.

Cleburne High School will face Arlington Heights High School at 7 p.m. Monday at the Wilkerson-Greines Activities Center in south Fort Worth.

Cleburne wrapped up the regular season at 25-8 and captured the District 8-5A championship with a perfect 14-0 league record. The district title came just one year after the Lady Jackets failed to qualify for the postseason, making this playoff appearance especially meaningful.

A win Monday would send Cleburne to the area round, where a likely matchup awaits against No. 2 and defending Class 5A Division I state champion Denton Ryan later this week.

On the boys side, Jackets basketball closes out the season Tuesday at home against playoff-bound Arlington Seguin. Cleburne enters the finale 11-20 overall and 2-11 in District 8-5A play.

Lady Jackets soccer continues to roll. Cleburne stands at 11-0-2 overall and 5-0-2 in district action, locked in a three-way tie for first place with Burleson Centennial and Joshua. The Lady Jackets return to action Friday on the road at Centennial.

Jackets soccer sits in the middle of the District 8-5A race at 5-8-4 overall and 4-3 in league play.
