The Lady Tigers basketball team is headed to the Class 3A Division I Region II playoffs as the No. 2 seed from District 7-3A.

Malakoff will face Sabine High School Monday at 6 p.m. at Tyler Junior College in a doubleheader, followed by Mineola and Gladewater.

The Lady Tigers enter the postseason on a hot streak, having won three of their last four games. Malakoff clinched its playoff berth Tuesday with a 46-44 victory over Eustace High School and followed that up Friday with a 37-26 win over Scurry-Rosser High School. One of the three wins came via a forfeit against Winona.

Malakoff finished the regular season 17-16 overall and 7-5 in District 15-3A. Sabine enters the matchup at 16-16. A win Monday would advance the Lady Tigers to the area round against either Hughes Springs High School or Texarkana Liberty-Eylau High School later this week.

The Malakoff boys basketball team wraps up its season Tuesday at home against Grand Saline High School.
