The Graham Steers basketball team opened the Class 4A Division I Region I playoffs Tuesday, facing San Angelo Lake View of District 5-4A in Clyde. Graham entered the game 18-15 overall, while Lake View was 24-12. The Steers are the second Division I seed and a win would advance them to the area round, likely against No. 8 Burkburnett later this week.
Graham closed the regular season last week with a 62-36 loss at Stephenville, finishing 4-6 in District 6-4A play.
In soccer, the Lady Blues continue to excel. They began the week 12-1-4 overall and 5-0 in District 4-4A. Graham was scheduled for home matches Tuesday against Burkburnett and Friday against second-place Decatur. The boys soccer team was 2-11-1 overall and 1-4 in district play to start the week.
Softball and baseball seasons are underway. The Lady Blues played Peaster Monday and will participate in the Iowa Park tournament starting Thursday. Graham baseball is off to a 4-1 start through the first week of play.
