The Eagle Mountain Knights basketball team opened the Class 4A Division I Region I playoffs Tuesday, facing Southwest of Fort Worth at Brewer High School. Eagle Mountain entered the game 19-14 overall and finished District 7-4A play 10-4, good for third place and the No. 2 Division I seed. The Knights closed the regular season with a 51-44 win over Lake Worth last Tuesday. A victory Tuesday would advance Eagle Mountain to the area round against either Stephenville or Wolfforth Frenship Memorial later this week.
Knights boys soccer is 8-2-2 overall and 4-1 in District 8-4A, currently in second place. The team faced Springtown Tuesday and travels to Collegiate Academy Friday.
Lady Knights soccer is 5-8-1 overall and 1-3-1 in district play.
Baseball and softball seasons are underway. Lady Knights softball, which began two weeks ago, is 8-3, while baseball opened last week with a 1-3 start.
