Defending District 7-4A champion Springtown Lady Pines softball opened district play Tuesday with a 3-0 loss at Burkburnett Bulldogs. Springtown, now 10-9 overall, is off the remainder of the week and returns to action Tuesday against Lake Worth High School in its home district opener.

Pines baseball is competing in its third and final non-district tournament this weekend, playing in the Burleson and Cleburne event that began Thursday and runs through Saturday. Springtown, 5-3-1 through the first two weeks of the 2026 season, opens District 7-4A play Tuesday at home against Lake Worth. The program is led by head coach Colin Crawford and finished second in district last season, advancing to the area round of the playoffs.

Lady Pines soccer saw its playoff hopes take a significant hit Tuesday with a 5-2 loss to Castleberry High School. Springtown must win its final two matches and hope fourth-place Eagle Mountain falters to keep postseason hopes alive. The Lady Pines are 8-8-1 overall and 2-6 in District 8-4A.
