Tiger baseball opens District 15-3A play this week with a home-and-home series against Quitman High School. The Tigers travel to Quitman on Tuesday before hosting the return game Friday. Malakoff wrapped up play in the Athens Tournament over the weekend, entering Saturday at 8-3-3. The Tigers recorded two ties during the event, against Pine Tree High School and Gilmer High School.
Lady Tiger softball is off to a strong start in District 15-3A. Malakoff opened district play last week with a 5-2 win over Edgewood High School and a 3-0 victory against Eustace High School. The Lady Tigers are now 13-7 overall and will travel to Quitman on Tuesday before hosting Mineola High School on Friday. Mineola also opened district play with two wins last week.
Track and field continues its early-season schedule this week as Malakoff competes Thursday in Kerens High School.
