Glen Rose athletics is hitting the home stretch of non-district play before district action begins. Tiger baseball is competing in its third and final tournament of the season this week in China Spring, a round-robin event running through Saturday. The Tigers are guaranteed five games and enter with a 6-4 record. Last week, they went 3-1 in tournament play, scoring in double digits in victories over Burnet and Killeen.

Lady Tiger softball has been strong at 10-8-1. They host Lorena High School girls softball Friday. A historic 15-1 win over De Leon High School girls softball on Monday marked head coach Kiel Miller’s 300th career win. The District 6-4A season kicks off next week with Glen Rose hosting Brownwood High School baseball Tuesday.

Track and field continues to produce standout performances. At the Godley meet on March 5, sophomore Anderson Tidwell captured the 800 meters and placed third in the 1600, while freshman Cannon Sullivan won both the long jump and triple jump.
