The Eagle Mountain High School boys and girls soccer teams will open the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs against the same opponent, Benbrook, in rare back-to-back matchups on separate days and locations.
The boys Knights play Thursday at 6 p.m. at Saginaw Chisholm Trail. Eagle Mountain enters at 10-5-2, while Benbrook is 16-9. The Lady Knights face Benbrook Friday at 4 p.m. at Aledo High School. Eagle Mountain girls are 7-10-2, and Benbrook, the District 7-4A champion, is 19-3-1.
Eagle Mountain baseball continues District 7-4A play this week with a home-and-home series against Bridgeport. The first game was Monday in Bridgeport, and the return matchup is Wednesday at Eagle Mountain. The Knights entered the series 8-6 overall and 2-0 in district play, having swept Burkburnett in last week’s opening district series.
The Lady Knights softball team is 14-7-1 overall and 3-1 in District 7-4A. They played at Decatur Tuesday and will face Sanger in a non-district game Saturday.
