With the basketball season complete, attention turns to spring sports at Decatur High School as district competition heats up.
The Decatur baseball team enters the week 8-6-1 overall and 2-0 in District 7-4A play. The Eagles will step out of district competition due to spring break, playing a pair of non-district games instead. Decatur travels to Mineral Wells on Thursday before hosting Glen Rose on Friday.
Last week, the Eagles opened district play with a sweep of Castleberry, winning 13-1 and 10-0. Decatur followed with a 12-6 loss to Boyd, a Class 3A power, in a non-district matchup Saturday.
The Lady Eagles softball team is 7-4 overall and 3-0 in District 7-4A. Decatur faced a key district matchup Tuesday at Eagle Mountain and will host Springtown on Friday. The Lady Eagles defeated Castleberry 4-1 in their only district game last week.
The Decatur boys and girls track and field teams have completed three meets this season and are off this week for spring break. Both teams are scheduled to return to competition next week.
