The Springtown High School baseball team’s offense continues to set the tone early in District 7-4A play. The Porcupines opened their series against Burkburnett with a dominant 19-4 victory Tuesday, with the return game scheduled for Friday at home.
Springtown improved to 11-3 overall and 3-0 in district play, scoring in double figures in all three district games so far. The Porcupines also swept Lake Worth last week to open district competition.
The Lady Pines softball team enters the latter half of the week 12-9 overall and 2-1 in District 7-4A after schedule adjustments due to spring break. Springtown hosted Castleberry on Thursday and travels to Decatur on Friday.
The Lady Pines are coming off a dominant stretch, including a 22-0 victory over Bridgeport last Friday and a 16-0 win against Lake Worth prior to that.
Springtown’s track and field teams are off this week for spring break after hosting the Brad Legan & Family meet last week. The event featured several strong performances, including Nicholas Garcia winning the 200-meter dash and Madelyn Walker taking first place in the 3,200-meter run.
