Glen Rose High School baseball is in the midst of a busy non-district week. The Tigers fell 3-2 to Rio Vista Tuesday and will play back-to-back games later this week, traveling to Decatur on Friday and hosting Class 5A Granbury on Saturday. District 6-4A play begins next week with a series against Mineral Wells. Last week, Glen Rose went 2-3 in the China Spring tournament and enters the week 9-7 overall.
The Lady Tigers softball team improved to 14-8-1 with a district-opening win Tuesday at home, defeating Brownwood 13-8 in a high-scoring contest. Glen Rose travels to Graham later this week. The Lady Tigers have won eight of their last 10 games.
The Glen Rose boys and girls track teams competed at the Dublin meet last week, producing several standout performances. On the boys side, junior Kaiden Shannon won the 100-meter dash, while Bryson Larson captured first in the 800 meters. The girls side saw Cailey Harwell take gold in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, and Olivia Evertson claimed first in the 3,200 meters.
