Corsicana High School baseball continues its dominant start to the season, posting a 17-1-1 overall record and a 3-0 mark in District 15-5A play. The Tigers are riding a 15-game winning streak after defeating Terrell 6-0 in the series opener Tuesday, with the return game scheduled Friday in Terrell.
Last week, Corsicana completed a sweep of Crandall in the district-opening series and added a 10-1 non-district victory over Irving Nimitz on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers softball team sits at 10-11 overall and 2-3 in District 15-5A. Corsicana fell to Midlothian 10-0 Tuesday and is scheduled to host Red Oak later this week. The Lady Tigers currently occupy fifth place in the district playoff chase.
Corsicana boys and girls track teams competed last week at the Meet of Champions in Lancaster. The boys are in a rebuilding season, while the girls continue to showcase standout talent in senior Measha Rhinehart. Rhinehart placed second in both the triple jump and 400 meters. In February, Rhinehart signed a national letter of intent to compete at University of North Texas.
