Weatherford High School’s Lady Roos soccer team continues its playoff run after a strong opening-round performance. This past Thursday, Weatherford defeated Trophy Club Byron Nelson 1-0 in a Class 6A Division I Region I matchup at Weatherford High School. The Lady Roos improve to 18-2-3 and will face Midland Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the area round at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. Midland advanced after a 1-0 win over El Paso Pebble Hills in its playoff opener and enters the matchup 11-9-2.

Weatherford baseball split a highly anticipated District 3-6A series with Mansfield Legacy last week, winning the opener 9-8 but falling 3-2 in the return game. The Roos are now 13-7 overall and 3-1 in district play. This week serves as a bye for district action, but Weatherford is using the time for a non-district home-and-home series with Rockwall, followed by a Saturday matchup at Waxahchie.

The Lady Roos softball team sits at 10-11 overall and 3-2 in District 3-6A play.
