Coming off one of the most memorable springs in school history, the Aledo Bearcats baseball team has carried their momentum from its 2025 UIL Class 5A Division I state championship into the early portion of the 2026 season, while the Aledo Ladycats softball squad looks to recapture postseason form after a deep run last year.

In 2025, Aledo’s baseball program had a comeback after an 11‑year title drought with an 8‑1 victory over Spring Branch Smithson Valley in the state final at Dell Diamond, to secure the state title. It was powered by a balanced lineup and strong pitching throughout the season. That success also helped the district capture the UIL Class 5A Lone Star Cup, a year‑long points award for overall excellence in academics and athletics.

As the 2026 season unfolds, the Bearcats have continued to roll early, posting decisive wins over opponents like Trinity and South Grand Prairie. They have showed strong offensive depth in non‑district play. The teams experience from last season’s championship appears to be paying dividends as district play approaches.

Softball in 2025 was equally strong, with the Aledo Ladycats advancing to the Class 5A Division I state semifinals before falling to nationally dominant Melissa. That semifinal berth was one of the Ladycats’ best in recent years.

As of early March 2026, Aledo’s softball team sits at roughly 11‑9 overall with a 2‑0 district mark and mid‑tier Texas rankings. Returning players and emerging underclassmen are contributing, but the Ladycats will need consistency and late‑season momentum to make a similar deep a playoff run like last years.
