Bridgeport boys soccer is riding a strong playoff wave, advancing to the Class 4A Division II state quarterfinals. The Bulls pitched back-to-back shutouts last week, defeating San Elizario 5-0 in the area round on Tuesday, then topping Ferris 2-0 in the regional semifinals Friday. Bridgeport improves to 19-3 and will face Brownwood Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Stephenville’s Art Briles Stadium.

Bridgeport baseball had a challenging week, losing both games to District 7-4A leader Springtown, 11-3 and 16-1. The Bulls drop to 5-13-1 overall and 1-3 in district play. A shortened district series with Castleberry is scheduled for Tuesday at home and Thursday in River Oaks due to the Easter holiday.

Bridgeport softball earned its first District 7-4A victory last week, defeating Lake Worth 27-9, providing a bright spot as the Lady Sissies continue their season.
