The Weatherford Roos baseball season came to an end after a split in their final series of the year, missing a playoff play-in opportunity in District 3-6A.

Weatherford needed a sweep of Mansfield to force a postseason play-in situation but was only able to split the series. The Roos were eliminated from playoff contention last Tuesday with a 7-2 loss before closing the season with a 4-1 win. Weatherford finishes 20-12 overall and 7-5 in District 3-6A. The Roos actually improved their district record from 2025, when they went 6-6 and qualified for the playoffs.

The Lady Roos softball season also came to a close after a competitive showing against District 4-6A champion Trophy Club Byron Nelson in the Class 6A Division II opening round. Each of the three games in the Region I series was decided by 3-2 scores. Weatherford won the opener Friday before Byron Nelson won the final two games Saturday. The Lady Roos finish the season 14-18.

The Class 6A Region I track meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Lubbock. Weatherford will be represented by Peek Ryder in the pole vault and Braelee Gilbert in the discus.
