Paradise baseball and softball have adjusted their playoff schedules due to the end-of-week weather forecast.
The Panthers, District 10-3A champions, opened their Class 3A Division II Region II bi-district series against Village Tech of Duncanville on Wednesday at Paradise High School. The best-of-three series began with a doubleheader. If a third game is necessary, it is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, though that scenario appeared unlikely. Paradise entered the series with a 25-3 record, finishing 12-0 in district play and carrying a 15-game winning streak.
Paradise softball has advanced to the area round of the Class 3A Division II Region II playoffs and faces a strong Bells team. The Lady Panthers (27-5-1) opened the series Wednesday in Era against Bells (28-3-1). Game 2 is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at S&S Consolidated. A third game, if needed, would be played Monday, with additional details still pending.
The Class 3A Region II track and field meet is set for Friday and Saturday at Whitehouse, where Paradise will have multiple competitors.
