Aledo Begins Regional Semi-Final Series Against Lubbock Monterey
The path toward Austin continues tonight for the Aledo Ladycats.
Aledo Softball returns to playoff action Thursday night in the Regional Semi-Final round of the UIL 5A Division I State Playoffs as the Ladycats take on the Lubbock Monterey Lady Plainsmen in Game 1 of a best-of-three series.
The series will be played at neutral-site Holliday High School.
First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday night with pregame coverage beginning at 6:15 p.m. on NTX Varsity Sports.
Game 2 is scheduled for Friday at 1:00 p.m., while a Game 3, if necessary, will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.

Aledo enters tonight after another dominant season under the bright lights of Texas high school softball. The Ladycats finished district play undefeated at 13-0, capturing their sixth consecutive district championship while extending their district winning streak to 66 straight games. The current senior class has never lost a district softball game during their high school careers.
The Ladycats have battled through a challenging playoff journey to reach the Regional Semi-Finals. Aledo claimed its Bi-District title by winning two of three games against Birdville, securing victories both at home and at a neutral site after dropping Game 2 in Birdville. In the Area Round, the Ladycats survived a winner-take-all matchup against Paschal to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Now, the competition only gets tougher.
Lubbock Monterey arrives as one of the hottest teams left in the Region I bracket. The Lady Plainsmen finished district play 14-2 while winning District 3 and have already collected four playoff victories on their road to the fourth round.
With a trip to the Regional Finals on the line, both district champions enter tonight with momentum, confidence, and championship aspirations.
