Boyd baseball continues to dominate its postseason competition in the Class 3A Division I Region II playoffs.
The Yellow Jackets swept Winnsboro in the area round this past weekend at North Forney High School, winning 10-0 and 12-0 in two run-rule victories. Through three playoff games, Boyd has outscored opponents 53-0.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 32-2 overall and have now won 13 consecutive games. Boyd is also approaching last season’s 34-win total.
Next up is a Region II semifinal matchup against Tatum. The best-of-three series will return to North Forney High School, with Games 1 and 2 scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. A deciding Game 3, if necessary, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday.
Tatum enters the series with a 26-6 record after winning the District 16-3A championship. Tatum swept both Quitman and Texarkana Liberty-Eylau in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
