Cleburne head football coach A.J. Sheppard is making major changes to his coaching staff heading into the 2026 season.
Sheppard has hired Wesley Hooks as the Yellow Jackets’ new defensive coordinator. Hooks will also coach the linebackers. He comes to Cleburne from New Boston in East Texas and previously enjoyed a strong college playing career at Tarleton State in Stephenville.
On offense, Utavius Ingram has been named the new offensive coordinator. Ingram spent the past four seasons at Lancaster and has also coached at Mesquite Horn, Crowley and Southwest Fort Worth.
Cleburne also added Evan Huahulu as the new defensive line coach. Huahulu has previous coaching experience in California and played collegiately at SMU and Utah State.
Sheppard is still searching for a running backs coach to complete the Yellow Jackets’ staff for the upcoming season.
