Bearcat baseball is riding a 17-game winning streak heading into tonight’s district series with Saginaw in Aledo. The Bearcats are 22-2 overall and 7-0 in District 5-5A, tied for first with Granbury. Aledo won the first game against the Rough Riders Tuesday in Saginaw, 10-0. The Bearcats will also host a non-district game against Birdville on Saturday.
Lady Cats softball’s district winning streak now stands at 63 games, dating back to 2021. They defeated Keller Fossil Ridge Tuesday, 11-3, improving to 19-9 overall and 9-0 in 5-5A. Aledo has already clinched a playoff spot and can secure the district championship tonight at home against Saginaw.
Girls golf won the District 5-5A title last week, while the boys finished second. Both boys and girls tennis teams also claimed district titles. These teams are advancing to the 5A Region I tournaments starting Monday in Lubbock.
The District 5-5A track meet concludes at Aledo Friday, with qualifiers advancing to the area meet next week in Saginaw.
