Will the Streak Continue? Corsicana Faces Midlothian Heritage in Crucial District Matchup
By Chloe Thompson

CORSICANA, TexasAfter four long years without a district win, the Corsicana Tigers have suddenly found their rhythm winning three straight and putting themselves back in the playoff picture. But the momentum must carry into tonight’s game, when they host district powerhouse Midlothian Heritage at Community National Bank & Trust Stadium.

Corsicana (5-3, 3-2 in District 6-5A) controls its playoff destiny, but this Senior Night contest will be its toughest test yet. The visiting Jaguars (5-3, 4-1) sit in second place and are fresh off multiple deep playoff runs, including last year’s district title.

The Tigers’ offense has surged behind senior running back Mark Brown (#7), who exploded for 220 yards and three touchdowns in last week’s 35–17 comeback win over Kaufman. Quarterback Kevin Pointer Jr. (#2) has shown poise in the pocket, spreading the ball to a deep receiver group led by Willie Conley (#5) and CJ Davis (#4). Defensively, Allen Walker II (#3) and Abraham Arredondo (#20) anchor a unit that’s become tougher each week.

Heritage brings balance and experience, led by senior quarterback Jaylin Hawkins (#2) and a talented receiving corps featuring Camden Parker (#3) and Koen Goralski (#6). Their defense, built around Luke McCain (#11) and Zachery Hagerty (#7), will look to slow down Brown and the Tigers’ ground attack.

For Corsicana, a win could mean a leap into playoff position and a statement that this program’s resurgence is real. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with pregame coverage on 106.9 FM beginning at 6.
