Tuesday proved to be a big day for All Saints athletics as both the boys and girls basketball teams earned hard-fought victories against Fort Worth Christian, recording their first TAPPS District 1-5A wins of the season.
The Lady Saints held on for a 41-34 victory over the Lady Cardinals. The win moves All Saints to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in district play. The Lady Saints return to action Friday at home against Parker-Tarrant Home School with a 6 p.m. tipoff.
Meanwhile, the Saints boys edged out Fort Worth Christian 54-52, snapping a six-game losing streak. The victory brings the boys’ record to 6-12 overall and 1-2 in TAPPS. The team is under new head coach Fred Campbell, who also manages the private gym owned by Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban. The Saints host Grapevine Faith Christian Friday.
Soccer teams also had strong showings. Boys soccer topped Coram Deo Academy, 2-1, to move to 4-1-1, while the Lady Saints routed Coram 12-0, improving to 6-1. Both soccer teams played at Southwest Christian Thursday.
