Favorable weather and a playable surface allowed both the Saints and Lady Saints soccer teams to take the field Thursday.

The boys improved to 7-3-1 with a 1-0 victory over Southwest Christian. The win keeps them on track for a playoff berth, though they still have work to do. They travel to Fort Worth Christian Thursday.

The Lady Saints continued their push for a repeat TAPPS 5A Division I state championship, defeating Southwest Christian 5-0. The team is now 11-1 on the season and has allowed only one goal in its last six matches, with five consecutive clean sheets. They also travel to Fort Worth Christian Thursday.

In basketball, the Saints earned a 71-65 win at Southwest Christian on Friday and remain in contention in TAPPS 1-5A play. They are 8-17 overall and 3-7 in district competition. Meanwhile, the Lady Saints fell 54-23 to Southwest Christian and are now 5-13 and 1-9 in TAPPS 1-5A.
