Both the Saints and Lady Saints soccer teams are moving on in the TAPPS 5A postseason after advancing to the regional round.
The teams took care of business Monday by sweeping Bishop Dunne in the opening round. The Saints improved to 10-3-2 with a 4-0 victory, while the Lady Saints moved to 15-2-1 following a dominant 6-0 win.
Regional round matches were scheduled for Thursday. The Lady Saints faced Austin Regents in Lorena, while the Saints took on Brookhill in Mabank. With wins, both teams would advance to the TAPPS state semifinals.
Basketball seasons have concluded for both programs.
The Saints closed a challenging year on Feb. 17 with an 87-69 loss to Trinity Christian-Lubbock, finishing the season 8-20 overall and 3-9 in TAPPS 1-5A play.
The Lady Saints also fell to Trinity Christian-Lubbock on Feb. 17, dropping a 43-32 decision to end their season at 6-17 overall and 2-12 in TAPPS competition.
