This All Saints Saints Sports Minute is brought to you by Double Eagle
Another tough assignment for the Saints on Friday over in Denton County. They play at Gunter, a perennial state power and winner of five Class 3A state championships.
It’s a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Saints are 3-2. Gunter is 3-0 and is ranked No. 2 in the Class 3A Division I state poll.
That should be enough to tell you what awaits head coach Aaron Beck’s program. And hopefully, his team has put last week’s heartbreak behind it.
A Hail Mary on the game’s final play was the difference. Lucas Lovejoy escaped with a 30-28 victory on Sept. 17 in Godley.
It was a tremendous game by the Saints. The lead changed hands five times in the second half. Sophomore running back Braydon Boults finished with 168 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score inside the final minute.
He’s at nearly 500 yards for the 2026 season.
Gunter beat Sulphur Springs 29-17 last week.
Lady Saints volleyball is 9-13 overall and 0-3 in TAPPS play. They played at Grace Prep on Thursday. All Saints lost to Fort Worth Christian on Tuesday.
