BOYD, Texas — Boyd picked up a building block win Friday as the Yellow Jackets improved to 2-0 with a 26-21 upset of Jacksboro.
Senior running back Maddox Parks carried the load, rushing for 201 yards and all three of Boyd’s touchdowns. The game endured weather delays due to a strong cold front but was completed.
Boyd’s defense also came up big, forcing five turnovers and adding a safety to help offset a Jacksboro offense that nearly doubled the Jackets in total yards.
Boyd will travel Friday to face Henrietta. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Bearcats are 1-1 after edging Burkburnett 21-18 last week.
In volleyball, the Lady Jackets close non-district play Tuesday at Nocona before beginning District 10-3A competition Friday at Ponder. Boyd enters the week 17-9.
The cross country teams were off last week and are scheduled to compete Saturday at Saginaw Boswell.
