Boyd athletics moved its basketball contests from Friday to Thursday this past weekend due to winter weather impacting North Texas.
It was a difficult week for Lady Jackets basketball, who dropped both games. Boyd fell 43-41 at Callisburg and then 65-24 at home to second-place Ponder. The Lady Jackets are now 11-17 overall and 3-5 in District 10-3A, placing fifth in the league. They still control their playoff fate and will face last-place Pilot Point on Tuesday, with only three games remaining in the season afterward.
Boyd boys basketball also struggled last week, losing 65-44 at Callisburg and 79-34 to No. 21 Ponder. The Jackets are 15-13 overall and 2-4 in 10-3A, remaining in the playoff hunt. Their only game this week is Tuesday at Pilot Point.
