Boyd High School’s football program will remain in Class 3A Division I after the UIL released its classification cutoff numbers last week, confirming what district leadership had likely anticipated.
Boyd submitted an enrollment figure of 429 students earlier this year, placing it on the lower end of the Class 3A Division I range, which spans 367 to 549 students. The designation applies primarily to football, while other sports compete in separate districts.
Boyd football is concluding its run in District 4-3A alongside Paradise, Ponder, Peaster, Vernon, Bowie and Iowa Park in Region I. Other athletic programs compete in District 10-3A in Region II through the spring season.
The UIL will announce new district alignments for all Boyd athletics programs on Feb. 2, providing ample time for preparation ahead of the 2026-27 school year.
