Boyd High School’s Jackets baseball team is kicking off the District 10-3A season this week with a home-and-home series against Callisburg High School, Tuesday at Callisburg and Friday at Boyd. The Yellow Jackets remain undefeated through the first three weeks at 14-0. Their recent performance in the Walker Stallcup Event was dominant, going 4-0 with wins over Stephenville, Whitney twice, and Eagle Mountain. Boyd’s pitching staff has been a major factor, recording six shutouts so far this season, including two more during the tournament.
On the softball side, Lady Jackets softball is off to a strong start at 17-2 overall and 2-0 in District 10-3A play. Last week, they secured victories over Whitesboro and Pilot Point. The team has a non-district game at Krum High School Tuesday before resuming district play Friday at Callisburg.
Track season continues for Boyd’s boys and girls teams Thursday in Springtown. Notably, freshman Dalton Gray won the 100-meter dash at last week’s meet.
