The Boyd High School Yellow Jackets baseball team extended its perfect season, now 17-0 overall and 2-0 in District 10-3A. Last week, Boyd posted a pair of run-rule victories over Callisburg, 11-0 and 12-2, before defeating Decatur 12-6 in a non-district Saturday matchup. Through 17 games, Boyd’s pitching and defense have allowed just 24 runs.
District play continues this week with a home-and-home series against Valley View. Boyd hosts Tuesday and travels Friday for the second game.
The Lady Jackets softball team is also enjoying a dominant season. They are 19-2 overall and 3-0 in District 10-3A, winning 14 consecutive games. Last week, Boyd defeated Krum 9-2 in a non-district matchup and beat Callisburg 19-0 in district play. The pitching staff has recorded 10 shutouts so far. District play resumed Monday against Valley View, and the Lady Jackets travel to Ponder Thursday.
In track and field, Boyd senior Lex Horton captured first place in the boys long jump at the Springtown meet Thursday.
