Bridgeport – Bridgeport played a strong first half in its District 3-4A opener last Friday against Mineral Wells, going into halftime tied 21-21. However, the Rams used a 21-point third quarter to pull away for a 49-28 victory. Bridgeport is now 1-5 this season.
A turnover early in the third quarter proved costly, setting up a Mineral Wells touchdown. Quarterback Dylan Hunter surpassed 1,000 passing yards for the season.
The Bulls travel to Graham on Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Steers are 4-2 after defeating Burkburnett 37-14 in their district opener.
Sissies volleyball continues District 7-4A play this week with matches at Krum on Tuesday and district leader Eagle Mountain on Friday.
At the District 7-4A cross country meet last week in Decatur, the boys team qualified for the Region I meet, finishing second. Senior Xxavier Garza and freshman Brayden Del Rio both placed in the top 10.
