Bridgeport Sissies basketball closed out the first half of the District 7-4A season with a narrow 49-47 victory over Krum on Saturday. The Sissies built a sizable lead through three quarters before holding off a late Krum rally. The win improves Bridgeport’s record to 18-11 overall and 5-2 in district play, tying them for second place with Burkburnett.

Meanwhile, Bridgeport Bulls boys basketball is working to stop a three-game slide. The team fell 62-49 at No. 7 Krum Friday after leading by as many as 10 points in the first half, and also lost a close 62-61 decision at home to Lake Worth last Tuesday. The Bulls are now 11-14 overall and 1-4 in 7-4A play, with upcoming games matching the Sissies’ schedule against Castleberry and Decatur.
In soccer, the Bulls boys program is off to a strong 9-1 start, while the girls finished 2-5 following weekend tournament play.
