The offseason is nearly underway for Aaron Cupp’s Bridgeport football program, which will look to regroup after a difficult 2025 season. The Bulls finished 1-9 overall and 0-5 in District 3-4A, with offensive struggles defining much of the year. Bridgeport was shut out in three district games, all against the league’s top-tier teams in Brock, Graham and Eagle Mountain, each of whom went on to win their playoff openers Friday.

Rebuilding the offense will be the primary focus for Cupp and his staff moving forward, beginning with the task of developing a new starting quarterback following the graduation of senior Dylan Hunter. On a positive note, senior receiver Mason Bentley has attracted college interest and recently received an offer from Bethany College in Kansas.

On the basketball court, the Sissies responded well after a season-opening loss to Paradise, rolling to a 72-47 win Friday at Bowie. A dominant 28-point first quarter set the tone as Bridgeport improved to 1-1. The Sissies return home Tuesday to face Wichita Falls City View.

The Bridgeport boys basketball team opened its season Saturday against Millsap.
