The Bridgeport Bulls are headed to the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
Bridgeport secured the final postseason berth out of District 7-4A with a 66-57 win over Lake Worth on Friday in Mineral Wells. The Bulls forced a tie for the district’s last playoff spot earlier in the week by defeating Decatur, while Lake Worth fell to Eagle Mountain in the regular-season finale.
Bridgeport enters the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs with an 18-17 record and will face Dunbar of District 8-4A. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Azle High School.
The Bridgeport Sissies’ basketball season also concluded in the postseason. The Sissies advanced to the area round of the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs after a 90-21 opening-round win over Dunbar but saw their season end with a 72-41 loss to No. 12 Lubbock Liberty. Bridgeport finished the year 24-14 overall.
In boys soccer, the Bulls improved to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in District 4-4A after victories over Mineral Wells and Graham last week. Bridgeport has clinched a playoff berth and was set for a key district matchup Tuesday at league leader Decatur.
