Bridgeport baseball controls its postseason destiny entering the final week of the season.
The Bulls hold one of the two playoff spots in District 7-4A. They are 10-15-2 overall and tied with Eagle Mountain at 5-5 in district play. Bridgeport has a two-game lead over Burkburnett.
If the Bulls split their series with the Bulldogs, they will be playoff-bound. Last week, Bridgeport took care of business against Lake Worth, winning 4-1 and 10-0.
A tough softball season came to a close for the Sissies, but they ended on a positive note. This past Friday, they routed Lake Worth, 24-7. The final record is 3-21 overall and 2-10 in District 7-4A.
There will not be a pursuit of a third straight state title for the Bridgeport boys golf team. Their run ended in the Class 4A Region I tournament last week in Lubbock, where the Bulls placed fifth with a two-day score of 609.
Bridgeport was coming off consecutive state titles in 2024 and 2025.
At the area track meet last week in Springtown, Brayden Del Rio qualified for regionals in the 1,600 meters.
