Bridgeport baseball’s postseason run ended in the opening round of the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs, but the Bulls still achieved one of their major goals by qualifying for the postseason.

Bridgeport faced a difficult matchup against District 8-4A champion Benbrook, which swept the series with 5-0 and 1-0 victories. Despite the first-round exit, the Bulls showed major improvement under second-year head coach Cameron Mavroulis.

After going winless in 2025, Bridgeport made a significant jump this season, recording double-digit victories and playing postseason baseball in May. The Bulls finished the 2026 campaign with an 11-18-1 record.

At the Class 4A Region I track and field meet this past weekend in Lubbock, freshman Brayden Del Rio represented Bridgeport in the 1,600 meters. Del Rio placed 11th in a deep field with a time of 4:42.16, improving his area meet performance by eight seconds.
