The Bridgeport High School boys soccer team advanced to the area round of the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs after a dominant 4-1 victory over Canyon Randall Thursday in Burkburnett. The Bulls improved to 17-3 overall and are riding a seven-match winning streak.
Bridgeport will face San Elizario Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Astound Broadband Stadium in Midland, formerly known as Grande Communications Stadium. San Elizario enters the matchup 17-5 after defeating Lubbock Liberty 3-0 in its playoff opener.
The Sissies softball team has struggled in District 7-4A play, suffering losses last week to Springtown and Burkburnett. The Lady Sissies will play their only game this week Friday at Castleberry.
Bridgeport baseball is 5-11-1 overall and 1-1 in district play after splitting a series with Eagle Mountain last week. The Bulls will play a home-and-home series with Springtown this week.
