FORT WORTH, Texas — Brock made a statement in the first half Thursday night, racing to a 41-0 lead over Fort Worth Southwest at Clark Stadium. The Eagles dominated in all phases, scoring on nearly every possession while their defense forced multiple turnovers to put the Raiders in a deep hole early.

The Eagles struck fast, scoring in the opening minute on a short touchdown run to go up 7-0. On Southwest’s first possession, Brock’s defense came up with an interception and quickly turned it into points, doubling the lead to 14-0.

Southwest’s struggles only mounted from there. Another turnover set up a 20-yard Brock touchdown run for a 21-0 advantage midway through the first quarter. Moments later, the Eagles’ defense delivered again, this time with a pick-six, stretching the margin to 28-0 by the end of the first quarter.

Brock kept the pressure on in the second quarter. The Eagles added another rushing touchdown to make it 35-0, then showcased their passing attack when the quarterback connected on a 30-yard touchdown strike to push the score to 41-0 with just over six minutes left before halftime.

Southwest pieced together its best drive of the half late in the second quarter, reaching near midfield, but Brock’s defense stiffened once again and forced a punt. The Raiders managed just a handful of first downs, while Brock’s defensive front consistently won the line of scrimmage and shut down any attempts at momentum.

By halftime, the Eagles had scored six touchdowns, three on the ground, one through the air, and two directly off interceptions. Their opportunistic defense and balanced offense left little doubt about control of the game heading into the second half.

Brock, eyeing a 4-0 start to the season, will look to finish off the Raiders after the break, while Southwest tries to avoid a shutout and find positives to build on moving forward.
