Cleburne basketball and soccer teams are scheduled to be busy Friday, weather permitting. Both the Jackets and Lady Jackets basketball teams are set to travel to Arlington Seguin, while the boys and girls soccer teams are slated to face Burleson Centennial. With winter weather forecasted for late Friday, fans are encouraged to monitor the Cleburne ISD website and social media channels for potential schedule changes.
On the hardwood, the Lady Jackets continue to lead the way. Cleburne began the week atop the District 8-5A standings at 18-8 overall and a perfect 7-0 in league play. The Lady Jackets also climbed to No. 22 in the Class 5A state rankings after being 24th last week. A key district test came Tuesday against second-place Mansfield Summit, a team Cleburne edged 47-44 in December on the road.
The Jackets entered the week at 11-13 overall and 2-3 in district action, firmly in the middle of the playoff race. They also faced Summit on Tuesday.
On the pitch, Lady Jackets soccer opened the week undefeated at 6-0, while the boys stood at 1-4-4 after hosting Brewer on Tuesday.
