It’s a busy week ahead for Yellow Jackets basketball. On Monday, Cleburne plays host to Alvarado at Cody Arena with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. Then the Jackets head west to Abilene for the Key City Classic, which runs Thursday through Saturday. Abilene High and Abilene Cooper will serve as tournament hosts.
Cleburne is scheduled to open tournament play Thursday against Cooper. The Jackets entered Monday’s game at 4-4 after dropping their only contest last week, a 71-53 loss at Weatherford.
Meanwhile, the girls team sits at 7-5. They wrapped up the Allen Tournament last week with a 38-34 win over the host Lady Eagles. They hit the road Tuesday to face Alvarado, then return home Friday to take on Mansfield.
Cleburne’s final tournament of the season won’t come until the Christmas break.
And one more recruiting note: Senior wide receiver Malachi Cunningham has received an offer from McMurry University in Abilene.
