The Lady Jackets have won five straight games and sit at 11-5 overall after opening District 8-5A play with a key road victory last week. Cleburne edged Mansfield Summit 47-44 on Friday, a win that could loom large later in the district race.
While December district games are sometimes overlooked, the Lady Jackets are treating them with urgency. All 14 district contests carry equal weight, and Cleburne made that clear even before the Summit win. Earlier in the week, the Lady Jackets delivered a dominant 54-21 victory over Glen Rose, setting the tone for district play.
Cleburne continues its district schedule this week with a pair of home games before the Christmas break. The Lady Jackets host Arlington Seguin on Tuesday, followed by Burleson Centennial on Friday.
On the boys side, Cleburne played just once last week but made it count. The Jackets earned a 52-46 win over Benbrook last Tuesday, improving to 6-8 on the season. While the overall record remains under .500, Cleburne has now won two of its last three games and appears to be building momentum.
Like the girls, the boys will enjoy a home-heavy week. The Jackets host Eastern Hills on Tuesday, then open District 8-5A play Friday against Burleson Centennial, following the girls’ contest.
With both programs trending upward, Cleburne heads into the heart of district play looking to carry confidence and consistency into the holiday break.
