The 16th-ranked Lady Jackets wrapped up the District 8-5A title with their regular-season finale Tuesday at Everman.

Cleburne entered the game 24-8 overall and a perfect 13-0 in district play, riding a 10-game winning streak. The Lady Jackets clinched the district crown last week with convincing wins over Burleson and Mansfield Timberview.

Now, Cleburne turns its attention to the postseason. The Lady Jackets are the top Division I seed out of District 8-5A and will open the Class 5A Division I Region I playoffs against Arlington Heights. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the Wilkerson-Greines Center in south Fort Worth.

On the boys side, Jackets basketball is winding down its regular season. Cleburne played at Everman on Tuesday and closes the year Friday at Mansfield Summit. The Jackets were 11-19 overall and 2-9 in district play entering the week.

Meanwhile, Lady Jackets soccer continued its strong start to the season. Cleburne opened the week 9-0-2 overall and 3-0-2 in District 8-5A before Tuesday’s home match against Mansfield Summit. The Lady Jackets travel to Arlington Seguin on Friday.

The boys soccer team follows the same opponents with reversed locations. The Jackets were 4-7-4 overall and 3-2 in district play entering the week.
