One of the most successful seasons in Cleburne girls basketball history came to a close Friday night.

The 16th-ranked Lady Jackets saw their standout 2025–26 campaign end with a 56-41 loss to No. 2 and defending Class 5A state champion Denton Ryan in the Division I Region I area round. The game was played at the Arlington ISD Athletics Center.

The Lady Raiders controlled the tempo from the opening tip, though Cleburne remained within striking distance for much of the contest. The Lady Jackets advanced to the area round after dominating Arlington Heights 80-15 in the opening round of the playoffs.

Cleburne finished the season 26-9 overall and captured an undefeated District 8-5A championship.

The boys basketball season concluded Feb. 17 with a 91-53 loss to playoff-bound Arlington Seguin. The Jackets ended the year 11-22 overall and 2-12 in District 8-5A play.

On the soccer pitch, the Lady Jackets entered the week at 11-1-2 overall and 5-1-2 in District 8-5A, sitting in third place. They played a key match Tuesday on the road against second-place Joshua. The boys soccer team began the week 5-9-4 overall and 4-4 in district action, placing the Jackets fifth in the standings.
