This Cleburne Yellow Jackets Sports Minute is brought to by Wright Tire Company
Cleburne athletics now knows its district destinations for the next two years following the University Interscholastic League’s biannual realignment released Monday.
The Yellow Jackets will remain at the Class 5A Division I level.
For football, Cleburne is assigned to District 8-5A in Region II, an eight-team alignment that includes Burleson Centennial, Cedar Hill, which drops from Class 6A, 2025 Class 6A Division II state champion DeSoto, Lancaster, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield Summit and Midlothian.
Head coach AJ Sheppard’s program will play a three-game non-district schedule against Granbury, Arlington Heights and Arlington Sam Houston.
For all other sports, Cleburne will compete in District 8-5A in Region I. The Yellow Jackets will share that district with Arlington Seguin, Burleson, Centennial, Joshua, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield Summit and Mansfield Timberview.
Meanwhile, the 16th-ranked Lady Jackets basketball team has already wrapped up the District 8-5A championship. Cleburne is 24-8 overall and 13-0 in district play heading into the regular-season finale at home against Mansfield Timberview.
