A strong week for Jackets baseball has it in a good playoff position coming into the final two weeks of the season.
Last week, Cleburne easily swept Everman, 13-1 and 8-0. The Jackets have the fourth playoff spot all to themselves at 17-7 overall and 5-5 in District 8-5A.
They have a chance to help themselves even more this week with a series against next-to-last Mansfield Summit, plus a chance to clinch a postseason berth.
Cleburne will also play a Saturday non-district home game against Midlothian Heritage.
This is it for Lady Jackets softball. It is the final week of the regular season. They are 13-18 overall and 5-7 in District 8-5A.
They are one game behind Mansfield Timberview for the final playoff spot. Cleburne beat both Timberview and Everman last week.
They must win their final two games of the season at Mansfield Summit and at Arlington Seguin to keep playoff hopes alive. The Lady Jackets also need Timberview to lose one game to force a tie.
Finally, at the District 8-5A track meet last week in Joshua, Nico Flores won the 800 meters and Braydon Deskins won the 1,600 meters.
Those two will head to the area meet later this week.
