Cleburne baseball’s season came to an end in the opening round of the Class 5A Division I Region I playoffs.
Paschal completed a two-game sweep of the Yellow Jackets this past week at Weatherford High School, winning 2-0 on Wednesday and 11-4 on Saturday. The series schedule was adjusted because of uncertainty surrounding the weather forecast.
Despite the first-round exit, Cleburne put together another strong season. The Yellow Jackets battled back during the second half of District 8-5A play to secure a playoff berth and finished the year with a 22-9 record.
The Class 5A Region I track and field meet also wrapped up Friday and Saturday in Lubbock. Nico Flores placed seventh in the 800 meters, Braydon Deskins posted a time of 4:38 in the 1,600, and CJ Kensley finished fourth in the high jump. Kensley also recorded a personal-best jump of 6 feet, 6 inches.
