The Cleburne High School Lady Jackets soccer have clinched a postseason berth and are preparing for the Class 5A Division I playoffs.
Cleburne entered the week with a 14-2-2 overall record and an 8-2-2 mark in District 8-5A, good for third place and the apparent No. 2 seed heading into the postseason. The Lady Jackets wrapped up their regular season this week with a road match Tuesday at Mansfield Summit High School before hosting Arlington Seguin High School on Friday. The Class 5A playoffs are scheduled to begin March 19, with playoff pairings expected to be finalized by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, Cleburne High School Yellow Jackets boys soccer are still battling to secure the final playoff spot in District 8-5A. The Jackets began the week 7-11-4 overall and 6-6 in district play, with Joshua High School close behind in the standings. Cleburne faced a difficult final stretch, playing Mansfield Summit on Tuesday before closing the regular season Friday on the road at Arlington Seguin.
On the diamond, Cleburne High School Yellow Jackets baseball entered district play at 11-3 after wrapping up tournament action last weekend. District 8-5A competition opened this week with a home-and-home series against Burleson Centennial High School.
