The Cleburne High School Lady Jackets soccer team carries momentum into the Class 5A Division I Region I opening round with a matchup against Arlington Heights. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at Handley Field in East Fort Worth, just off I-30 and Loop 820.
Cleburne finished the regular season strong, posting consecutive 8-0 wins over Mansfield Summit and Arlington Seguin. The Lady Jackets ended the campaign 16-2-2 overall and 10-2-2 in District 8-5A.
Meanwhile, the Cleburne boys soccer team narrowly missed advancing to the playoffs. A key 3-0 loss to Summit last Tuesday proved decisive. The Jackets finished fourth in District 8-5A and closed the season with a 3-0 victory over Seguin Friday, ending 8-12-4 overall and 7-7 in district play.
District 8-5A baseball action continues this week for Cleburne with a series against Mansfield Summit. The Jackets will travel to Summit Tuesday and return home Thursday. Last week, Cleburne lost both games to Burleson Centennial and currently holds an 11-4 overall record, with an 0-2 mark in league play.
