The Cleburne High School Lady Jackets soccer team carries momentum into the Class 5A Division I Region I playoffs, opening postseason play Thursday against Arlington Heights at 4 p.m. at Handley Field in East Fort Worth.
Cleburne closed the regular season with back-to-back 8-0 victories over Mansfield Summit and Arlington Seguin, finishing 16-2-2 overall and 10-2-2 in District 8-5A.
The Cleburne boys soccer team narrowly missed the playoffs. A pivotal 3-0 loss to Mansfield Summit on March 10 proved costly, as Joshua secured the final postseason spot in District 8-5A. The Jackets ended the season on a high note with a 3-0 win over Seguin, finishing 8-12-4 overall and 7-7 in district play.
Cleburne baseball continues District 8-5A action this week with a series against Mansfield Summit. The Jackets traveled Tuesday and will host the return game Thursday. Cleburne entered the week 11-4 overall and 0-2 in district play after dropping both games to Burleson Centennial last week.
